ACCESSIBILITY
Accessibility and Accommodations
We strive to create a program that prioritizes accessibility for participants, team, and facilitators. Pathways focuses on a human-centred approach to working and learning together, tailoring accessibility to participants’ individual needs. Please let us know if there are ways we can improve accessibility for you.
Application Process
Application form
- We provide PDF and Word versions of our Application form.
- We can arrange phone or Zoom sessions instead of a written form
Information Sessions
- ASL interpreters are present for online information sessions.
- Transcripts and recordings of information sessions are made available.
Website
- We use a WordPress accessibility plugin on our website
Engaging with Learning Opportunities
Live Events
- ASL interpreters are available upon request at our Pathways’ hosted live events
- Closed captions are available during our Pathways-hosted live events
Pathways Platform
- Participants can upload reflections to the Pathways platform in many formats, including audio, video, photo, and written.
Resources
- To the best of our ability, we will seek out resources that are the best fit for the participants, including resources such as audiobooks, large print materials, podcasts, movies, board games, etc.
Guides and Cohorts
Scheduling
- Participants choose a monthly cohort session that fits their schedule, with the option to join one led by a specific facilitator.
- Guide meeting times are arranged between you and your guide at a time that works best for participants.
Workload
- Your program workload can be shifted to accommodate for busier times of the year (for instance, festival season). The program is tailored to fit you, your context, and your capacity.
Financial Model and Community Care
Free programs that require a commitment of time are not accessible to everyone. We recognize that many smaller and volunteer-run organizations do not have the human capacity to participate in Pathways without financial support. We use a community care model to provide stipends to organizations that face barriers to participating in this program.
