Welcome to Pathways

We invite you to join a community of peers who support and learn from each other as we collectively co-create a more equitable, thoughtful sector.

Program applications for the 2026/2027 intake will open on May 26, 2026 and close on July 15, 2026.

We also have several upcoming public events that will offer a window into the program. Learn more on our events page

Pathways is a free program that supports BC-based arts, culture, and heritage organizations and collectives as they continue to embed equity and access into their work. This process looks different for each organization. It is an ongoing learning journey.

Participants will find a supportive community, individualized and relevant materials, and the time and resources to grow and deepen equity practices. Pathways also provides a means of accountability as you do this work.

What started as a year-long pilot program has developed into a network of over 150 organizations, of varying sizes and disciplines, from across the province that continue to grow, support, and learn from each other.

“I can only imagine the impact that this is having on the BC ecosystem at the moment, knowing how much impact it has had in at least one organization”

Who is Pathways for?

Pathways serves organizations at varying stages of their learning and implementation of equity and access practices. The program is flexible and tailored to each organization’s context, discipline, and geographic community reality.

Have you hit a wall in trying to implement practices?

Are you feeling alone in this work?

We have found that being in conversation with other organizations and being supported by our learning community has helped people and organizations implement changes.

For organizations just beginning this work:

This program is not about evaluation or assessment; it is about support.

Pathways supports organizations in understanding how to approach their existing work through an equity lens. That might mean identifying where to start or assisting with taking the next steps, or providing a framework of accountability.

For organizations further along:

Pathways supports organizations in deepening and strengthening the equity and access work they’re already doing. It offers space to reflect, adapt, be accountable, and grow practices in ways that are sustainable, responsive, and build resilience.

It is a space to build for the future.
