Considering this program?
The Pathways program is based on support, community, and organizational change.
There is no “perfect” level of readiness required to participate. What matters most is your organization’s intention to engage honestly with equity and access work, and a willingness to learn, reflect, and make meaningful change over time.
This program might be a fit if:
- Your organization is holding the intention to deepen equity, access, inclusion, or systems change work — whether you are just beginning or continuing existing efforts.
- You are looking for a space to do this work in community with others, and are open to working alongside folks coming from diverse contexts and starting points in their equity and access work.
- You have two participants who can collaborate and support one another throughout the program. We also know that there are some circumstances where only one person from your organization is ready to commit at the time of the application or within the program. You will have space to articulate your organization’s context in the application.
- Your participants are prepared to engage in honest self-reflection, and examination of their own beliefs, biases, and practices, as well as those of the organization, and the broader sector.
- Your organization and participants are open to honest reflection, difficult conversations, and exploring how your structures, practices, and relationships can evolve.
The program may also be a fit if:
- You participated in the past, but you would like to return to the program to deepen your learning.
Pathways may not be the right fit right now if:
- Your participants do not have enough organizational support to meaningfully engage in change work.
- Your organization is experiencing significant staffing or board turnover that would make sustained participation difficult.
- Only one person is available, who is unsure about their capacity to participate meaningfully throughout the year.
- You are primarily seeking a consultant to review policies or strategic plans.
- You are seeking funding from Pathways (this program is not a source of funding)
- You are an individual artist without a collective or organization to participate alongside.
- You are a brand new organization looking for initial development support (governance structure, seeking funding, etc.) without equity, access, inclusion, or systems change as central considerations.
If the timing is not right, you are always welcome to apply for a future intake of Pathways.
